REGISTERED CHARITY No.504409
Haverigg Inshore Rescue was formed in 1973 following the drowning of a local boy in a boating accident. The organisation is manned entirely by volunteers from the local communities of Haverigg, Millom and the surrounding area, and works closely with the local Coastguard.
This Independent Lifeboat station is funded entirely from donations and fundraising events within the local community.
To date H.I.R.T. volunteers have been called out approx. 300 times and assisted over 200 people in difficulty at sea.
We are continually seeking new recruits and helpers. Our Training Nights are held every Monday from 19:00 to 21:00, please feel free to call into the Boathouse for a look around, chat or to join up.
